PIE Section Objectives/
Objectifs de la Section PIE
The Parasitism, Immunity and Environment Section of the Canadian Society of Zoologists (CSZ) was established in 2011 to provide a venue for interchange among individuals interested in the interrelationships at all levels among infectious agents, the response to animals to these agents and the environment in which these relationships exist.
The PIE Section represents an evolution of the Parasitology Section of the Canadian Society of Zoologists, which was established in 1974 to promote and advance the study of parasitic organisims and facilitate the exhange of information among parasitologists in Canada.
La Section Parasitisme, Immunité et Environnement de la Société Canadienne de Zoologie (SCZ) a été créée en 2011 pour offrir un lieu d'échange entre les personnes intéressées par les interrelations à tous les niveaux entre les agents infectieux, la réponse des animaux à ces agents et l'environnement dans lequel ces relations existent.
La Section PIE représente une évolution de la Section de Parasitologie de la Société Canadienne de Zoologie, qui a été créée en 1974 pour promouvoir et faire progresser l'étude des organismes parasites et faciliter l'échange d'informations entre les parasitologues au Canada.

Nominations for Wardle Medal/
Nominations pour la médaille Wardle
The PIE Section promotes the study of the interrelationships at all levels among infectious agents, the response of animals to these agents, and the environment in which these relationships exists. The Wardle Award honours individuals for their outstanding contributions to Canadian-based research on the fields of study promoted by the PIE Section.
Nominations and supporting documentation should be submitted electronically to the Chair-Elect of the PIE section, and Chair (Coordinator) of the Recognition Committee: Dr. Emily Jenkins, emily.jenkins@usask.ca
La Section PIE promeut l'étude des interrelations à tous les niveaux entre les agents infectieux, la réponse des animaux à ces agents et l'environnement dans lequel ces relations existent. Le Prix Wardle honore les individus pour leurs contributions exceptionnelles à la recherche canadienne dans les domaines d'étude promus par la Section PIE.
